Club history
A nine-hole course opened in 1895. Willie Tucker laid out a new 18-hole course in 1897, with later evolution involving club members A.W. Tillinghast and George Thomas. St. Martins hosted two U.S. Opens before being reduced to nine holes in 1924 after the club developed Wissahickon.
