West Cliffs — Cynthia Dye routing golf through wild dunes beside the Atlantic

The site overlooks the Atlantic near Óbidos, set within a vast landscape of dunes, sand, pine trees and coastal vegetation.

Opened in 2017, West Cliffs was designed by Cynthia Dye with strong emphasis on preserving native dunes and vegetation.

Dye utilizes broad, irregular fairways, large natural bunkers, and greens that are integrated into the existing undulations. The course appears wild despite its recent creation.

The holes constantly change orientation, and the wind significantly alters their difficulty. Several of the ocean views are spectacular.

West Cliffs shares its environment with the Praia D'El Rey resort, offering a clubhouse, driving range, accommodation, and access to the coast.
