Vale do Lobo Ocean — pine-lined fairways descending gradually toward the Atlantic

The course begins in a rolling pine forest before descending towards the coast, the dunes, and open views of the Atlantic.

The Ocean Course is the result of two loops designed by Sir Henry Cotton in the 1960s and 1970s, which were subsequently combined and modernised to form the current layout.

Cotton makes use of natural slopes, subtle doglegs, and relatively accessible greens. The architecture is less dramatic than the Royal, but more fluid and more directly connected to the terrain.

The coastal holes on the back nine form the heart of the experience. Wind and elevation changes significantly alter distances.

The course shares all Vale do Lobo facilities and generally offers a more relaxed experience than the Royal.
