UGOLF Château de Raray

Le Daguet is Raray’s open nine-hole course, a par 36 almost as long as half a championship layout, spread across the Valois plain among fruit trees.

Patrice Leglise designed Le Daguet in 1989, two years after La Licorne. The objective was a quicker, more accessible loop without creating a simple academy course. Two par fives and five par fours give genuine sporting structure. It now hosts junior competition, training and independent rounds. Unlike forested La Licorne, Le Daguet opens towards Valois farmland. Ground is gently contoured with broad field views. Fruit trees and forgiving rough divide holes and create rural atmosphere. Wind has greater influence than in the forest.

The scorecard contains two par threes, five par fours and two par fives. Holes one, four and seven are solid par fours, while the sixth and ninth offer attacking choices. The design is readable but rewards the correct fairway side. Le Daguet officially measures 2,955 metres from white tees and plays to par 36. Men’s nine-hole Slope is published around 62. Played twice, it becomes a 5,910-metre par-72 round suitable for complete competition.

Visitors are accepted up to handicap 54 and share Raray’s hotel, restaurant, practice, academy and services.
