UGOLF Château de Metz-Chérisey

Metz Chérisey is a physical 18-hole, par-72 course measuring 6066 metres. Its identity comes from Moselle’s oldest course in a château park with broad fairways, two lakes and mature woodland.

The course belongs to UGOLF Château de Metz-Chérisey. Frederick Hawtree designed the first nine in 1963. Donald Harradine redesigned and expanded it to eighteen holes in 1987. The recorded design reference is Frederick Hawtree; Donald Harradine pour l’extension de 1987. Sporting activity, coaching and visitor services developed around the layout without erasing its original character. The course occupies a rolling largely wooded fifty-five-hectare estate fifteen minutes from Metz. Fairways cross the former château park through open ground, forest and water. Season, wind, moisture and vegetation can change effective distance and playing conditions.

The design challenge combines four par fives, four par threes, long par fours, protected greens and playable lines despite trees. Landing-zone choice and approach angle matter more than automatic power. The retained reference is 6066 metres and par 72. FFGolf publishes 6,066 metres, par 72, men’s SSS 72. 7 and Slope 131.
