UGOLF Château de Cély

Cély is an American-style château course created in 1990 across a 55-hectare Fontainebleau estate, with large greens, water and multiple approach angles.

The course was created in 1990 around a fourteenth-century château. Mark Adam and Patrick Fromanger worked with Jack Nicklaus Design on American architecture adapted to France. The club hosted the Women’s World Championships at inauguration and later joined UGOLF. The estate lies forty-five kilometres south of Paris near Fontainebleau and Barbizon. Holes cross park, woodland, meadow and water over gentle contour. Château and mature trees provide identity, while open sectors allow wind.

Every hole offers different angles and perspectives. Fairways are visible, but bunkers, water and large greens create target-golf logic. The par-five fifteenth exceeds 600 metres from the back tees and is one of the region’s longest tests. FFGolf publishes 5,924 metres, par 72, men’s SSS 72 and Slope 139. Four par fives, four par threes and ten par fours form the routing. High Slope reflects green and hazard difficulty.

Cély opens year-round and welcomes visitors up to handicap 54.
