The National Golf Brussels

The National — Bruno Steensels transforming Sterrebeek’s former racecourse into a contemporary championship venue

The course is located in Sterrebeek, on an open plateau where the former racecourse has given way to large water features, sculpted terrain, and expansive views.

The National Golf Brussels was developed on the former Sterrebeek racecourse, in the immediate vicinity of the Brussels ring road. Belgian architect Bruno Steensels designed the championship course and its facilities, which opened in the second half of the 2010s.

Steensels created a modern course with wide fairways, sculpted bunkers, large greens, and a significant presence of water. Tee shot choices allow for multiple angles, but direct attacks on the flags are often risky.

The course measures approximately six kilometers. The wind significantly impacts the open site, and the lakes become central to several holes.

A two-level range, sixty mats, grass tees, six-hole compact course and strong short-game facilities make training central to the club.

The Round selects it as one of the most ambitious recent Belgian golf projects, conceived for play, practice, and events.
