St Enodoc Church — James Braid among Cornish dunes, sea views and a once-buried church

The course overlooks the Camel Estuary and the north Cornish coast. Dunes, gorse, natural slopes and views towards Padstow create a spectacular landscape.

The club was founded in 1890. James Braid extensively remodelled the Church Course in the early 20th century, giving it the essential character it retains today.

Braid made full use of the terrain, natural bunkers and changes in direction. The Himalaya bunker on the 6th completely dominates the line of play and obscures the fairway beyond.

The course is uneven, very lively and often exposed to the wind. St Enodoc Church, which for a long time was almost buried under the sand, gives the course its name.

The club welcomes visitors and members in a traditional atmosphere, offering sea views and access to two courses.
