Sand Hills — Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw revealing Nebraska’s natural dunes

The course is located in the Sandhills of Nebraska, a vast landscape of grass-covered dunes, almost devoid of trees or visible constructions.

Sand Hills opened in 1995 after Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw explored thousands of acres of dunes to select eighteen natural sites. The course profoundly changed perceptions of modern American golf architecture.

Coore and Crenshaw moved very little earth. Fairways follow natural valleys, bunkers extend existing sand features, and greens appear to have been discovered rather than constructed.

Wind, uneven lies, and angles provide great variety. Each hole feels isolated within an immense landscape.

The club is private, seasonal, and focused on a simple experience: discreet accommodation, caddies, and complete immersion in the landscape.
