San Lorenzo — Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore among pines, lagoons and the Ria Formosa

The course winds through pine trees, sandy terrain, lakes, and wetlands, bordering the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Opened in the late 1980s, San Lorenzo was designed by Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore and quickly gained international recognition.

Lee and Roquemore crafted a highly varied routing, featuring multiple changes in direction, greens protected by water, and a spectacular finishing sequence around the lagoons.

Holes 5 through 8 run alongside the Ria Formosa, while the back nine alternates between forest and water. The course demands precision more than power.

San Lorenzo is affiliated with the hotel facilities of Quinta do Lago, yet it maintains a more independent atmosphere than a large integrated resort.

Designed by Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore; opened in the late 1980s.
