Royal Antwerp Golf Club

Le plus ancien club de golf de Belgique.

The course is situated north of Antwerp on exceptional sandy soil, nestled among mature pine trees, birches, and expansive heather.

Established in 1888, Royal Antwerp holds the distinction of being Belgium's oldest golf club. It relocated to Kapellenbos in 1912. designed the eighteen-hole course in 1913, before Tom Simpson undertook a comprehensive redesign of it around 1930.

While Park laid out the routing, Simpson enhanced the diagonals, introduced irregular bunkering, and refined the relationship between fairways and greens. The relatively flat terrain is brought to life by very precise strategic placements.

The course is pleasant to walk, but it is unforgiving of lateral errors into the heather. The fast greens and natural bunkers contribute to its challenge.
