Racing Club de France La Boulie

La Forêt is La Boulie’s second 18-hole course, a long 6,122-metre woodland layout flatter than La Vallée but very difficult to score because of narrow fairways and huge bunkered greens.

Racing Club de France acquired Bois des Gonnards in the 1960s to expand La Boulie. La Forêt opened in May 1968 and brought the property to forty-five holes. It became an essential sporting complement to historic La Vallée. The course winds through Bois des Gonnards on flatter ground than La Vallée. Hundreds of tree species line holes and create rare rural atmosphere within Versailles. Woodland protects wind but leaves little lateral margin.

Fairways are narrow and several par fours extremely long. Vast deep greens are almost always defended by large bunkers. Doglegs at seven, eight and fifteen require powerful accurate driving. The club publishes 6,122 metres and par 72. Length, huge greens and deep bunkers explain the scoring difficulty. Flat ground makes walking easier but not the golf.

La Boulie is private, with weekday green fees by advance reservation and broader July-August access.
