Quinta do Lago South — the Ria Formosa resort’s principal championship course

The course winds through pine forests, alongside lakes, and near the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

The South Course, designed by William Mitchell, opened in 1974. It has since undergone several renovations and remains Quinta do Lago's premier tournament venue.

Mitchell incorporated wide fairways, doglegs, and water hazards into his design. Recent renovations have modernized the greens, bunkers, and irrigation systems.

This is a balanced course, long from the back tees and suitable for major events.

Three courses, elite practice, academy, dining, hotel and sports facilities define the resort.
