The layout occupies the Monterey Peninsula, nestled between forests, cliffs, rocky bays, and offering continuous views of the Pacific Ocean.

Pebble Beach Golf Links opened in 1919, designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant. The course has become one of the great symbols of American public golf and regularly hosts the U. S. Open.

Neville and Grant aimed to place as many holes as possible along the oceanfront. The small greens, coastal angles, and shifting winds contribute to the course's challenging nature.

Holes 6 through 10 form an exceptional maritime sequence. The overall length of the course remains moderate, but the targets are small and exposed.

Pebble Beach is open to the public by reservation and is part of a comprehensive resort complex featuring multiple courses, hotels, a spa, and various restaurants.
