Omaha Beach Mémorial Golf Club

La Mer is Omaha Beach’s historic Channel-facing course, a 6,192-metre par 72 overlooking Port-en-Bessin and the D-Day landscape.

Guy Dupont transformed the family dairy farm into golf. Yves Bureau opened an initial nine in 1986, followed by La Mer and Bocage sectors in 1987. The coastal course became the estate’s image through views, American memory and national or international competition. Every hole carries a military or battle name. The course occupies high ground above Port-en-Bessin and the Channel. Open fairways, Normandy bocage, hedges and slopes combine with frequent coastal wind.

Yves Bureau used natural land without creating pure links. Coastal exposure mixes with hedges, angled landing zones and protected greens. Strategy changes strongly with wind. The official site publishes 6,192 metres and par 72. Length, wind and elevation create championship scale while forward tees preserve playability.
