History
Oitavos Dunes opened in 2001, designed by Arthur Hills, within the family estate of Quinta da Marinha. The course was conceived to preserve as much as possible the protected landscape of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
Architecture
Hills utilized natural undulations, bunkers integrated into the existing sand, and greens open to ground play. The course combines links characteristics with the ambiance of a coastal pine forest.

The wind, firmness, and changes in direction give the course a highly variable character. The most exposed holes offer a true sense of Atlantic golf.
