Les Aisses is a 6,648-metre par-72 Sologne heathland rebuilt by Martin Hawtree in British tradition among heather, pine and lakes.
History
Three Olivier Brizon nine-hole loops opened in 1992. After a 2005 takeover, Martin Hawtree rebuilt the red and white loops into the modern Les Aisses course around 2011.
The 270-hectare Natura 2000 estate has sandy soil, heather, pine, oak and ponds, with no urban intrusion and excellent drainage.
Architecture
Wide fairways, around one hundred bunkers and finely shaped greens create strategic options. The heather-lined par-five twelfth is a signature.
The current FFGolf course sheet publishes 6,648 metres, par 72, men’s SSS 74. 8 and Slope 140. Some calculator versions show 6,673 metres.
