Le Golf National

L’Aigle is Le Golf National’s second 18-hole course, an open rolling links-inspired layout more accessible than L’Albatros but complete enough for many championships.

Le Golf National opened in 1990 as the French federation’s major centre. Hubert Chesneau and Robert von Hagge shaped L’Albatros, L’Aigle and a learning course on a remodelled agricultural plateau. L’Aigle was designed as a smoother alternative but became competitive in its own right. The course occupies open Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines plateaus of mounds, shaped valleys, tall grasses and broad views. It has less water than L’Albatros and more recovery space. Wind creates inland-links character.

Fairways are relatively broad, while bunkers and land movement defend greens. Shorter birdie opportunities mix with strong par fours. Excellent visibility lets developing golfers understand risk. FFGolf publishes 5,815 metres, par 71, men’s SSS 70. 9 and Slope 122. It is more accessible than L’Albatros, though wind and greens preserve sporting value.

L’Aigle is available from Green Card or first handicap. It shares hotel, dining, performance centre, range, academy, pro shop and event facilities.
