Kennemer — Harry Colt’s great three-loop dune course above Zandvoort

The course occupies a vast system of coastal dunes near the North Sea and the Zandvoort circuit. Fairways wind between sandy valleys, parabolic dunes, marram grass, and more open areas where the wind becomes the primary element.

Founded in 1910, the club moved to Zandvoort in 1928, where Harry Colt designed a new eighteen-hole course. A further nine was later added in keeping with his principles.

Natural dune valleys, diagonal angles and integrated bunkering create strategic width rather than automatic comfort.

The A Course combination traverses constantly changing dune terrain. Lies are rarely perfectly flat, views are sometimes partially obscured, and greens often appear smaller from the fairway valleys.

Twenty-seven holes, the 1928 cottage-style clubhouse and a strong Dutch Open history define the experience.
