Hankley Common — James Braid across an immense heath south of London

The course occupies a vast sandy heathland near Tilford, featuring heather, pines, and extensive vistas across a protected natural site.

The club began with nine holes in 1897 before James Braid extended and transformed it in the 1920s.

Braid employs wide but strategically designed fairways, clearly positioned bunkers, and greens integrated into the natural contours of the land.

Hankley appears spacious, wild, and remarkably undeveloped. The wind and firmness of the ground lend the course a variable degree of difficulty.

The club offers a tranquil and traditional experience, enjoying a strong reputation among British golfers and welcoming visitors under specific guidelines.
