Welschap developed as an urban club for the Eindhoven region, close to airport and industrial infrastructure. Despite that context, the course gained strong landscape identity through mature woodland and a compact routing. Over time, maturing planting, improved drainage and renewed playing surfaces strengthened the course’s coherence. The club hosts competition, welcomes green-fee players under published conditions and relies on an active membership culture that contributes to maintenance, coaching and the identity of the venue. The site combines woodland, meadow and water, creating an enclosed park atmosphere that largely hides the city. The landscape is more than scenery: it influences ball flight, bounce, fairway firmness and distance perception. Wind, vegetation and soil conditions give the course a different character across the seasons.

Narrow fairways, doglegs and trees require precise tee shots. Greens are relatively small and well defended. The architecture rewards position, angle and continuity. A conservative route usually exists, but it leaves a longer or less open next shot. Greens are easiest to attack from the correct side of the fairway. The course is not excessively long, but lateral mistakes quickly require a recovery shot. The course has 18 holes, plays to par 72 and measures about 5950 metres from its reference tees. Multiple tee sets adapt the challenge without removing the strategic decisions.

Proximity to Eindhoven and the airport makes it practical for Round members and business meetings. Clubhouse, dining and practice facilities extend the day beyond the course.
