Toxandria — a North Brabant classic from the Colt school, restored with restraint

The course is located in Molenschot, set amidst a landscape of woods, heathland, and gently rolling terrain. Pines, deciduous trees, and clearings define an environment typical of Brabant.

Toxandria was founded on July 5, 1928, by Charles Stulemeijer. The initial nine-hole course was designed by John Morrison, working within the firm Colt, Alison & Morrison, with direct input from Harry Colt. The course was subsequently expanded to eighteen holes and adapted by Joan Dudok van Heel, then more recently restored by Frank Pont.

The diagonal lines, discreet bunkers, and greens defended by the natural contours of the land are reminiscent of the Colt school. Recent interventions have aimed to open up angles and restore strategic width.

Toxandria is easy to walk but demands consistent precision. The holes do not strive for spectacular effect; their strength lies in the repetition of choices.

The club maintains a historic, sporting, and relatively discreet atmosphere, with a strong tradition in junior and amateur golf.
