Golfclub Anderstein

Anderstein — three landscapes across twenty-seven holes between the Utrecht Ridge and Gelderland Valley

The estate is located precisely at the transition between the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Gelderse Vallei. The Vallei, Heuvelrug, and Heide loops traverse wetlands, woodlands, inland dunes, meadows, and heathlands, respectively.

Golfclub Anderstein was founded on June 21, 1986, on the estate of the Van Beuningen family. Joan Dudok van Heel designed the initial course, which emerged from the conversion of agricultural land. Nine additional holes opened in 2004, bringing the total to twenty-seven holes. Spogárd & VanderVaart subsequently oversaw several developments.

Each loop possesses a distinct identity. The Vallei loop makes greater use of water and ditches; the Heuvelrug loop is more wooded and undulating; the Heide loop opens onto sandy soils and heather areas.

The combinations significantly alter the experience. The course demands constant adaptation between precision, wind control, and managing elevation changes.

Anderstein is a members' club on a family estate, featuring a clubhouse converted from former agricultural buildings and a strong ecological policy.

The Round selects it for its rare landscape diversity and its way of telling the story of the evolution of the Dutch territory within a single club.
