Golfbaan De Stippelberg

: an award-winning modern championship course built around a one-kilometre quarry lake.

The course opened around 2010 and received the 2011 Golf Inc. Development of the Year Award. Spogárd & Van der Vaart symbolically restored the heathland character that farming had once flattened. The course belongs to a period of Dutch golf development in which clubs aimed to combine sporting quality, accessibility and landscape integration. Maturing planting, improved drainage and stabilised greens gradually created the present character. The club now hosts regular competition, welcomes visitors and links the course closely with practice facilities and clubhouse services. The large lake, heath, pine and shaped contours create a spectacular scale rarely found in the Netherlands. The landscape directly affects ball flight, bounce and distance perception. Wind is influential across open sections, while trees, banks or buildings shelter other holes.

The design offers strategic width, natural-looking bunkers and diagonal lines around water. Greens contain multiple levels. The design rewards position and approach angle. A safer route usually exists, but it leaves a longer or less direct next shot. Greens are defended by contour, bunkers and occasional water. From the back tees the course is long and demanding; forward tees preserve broad playability. The course has 18 holes, plays to par 72 and measures about 6500 metres in its reference configuration. Multiple tees maintain balance for different standards.

Contemporary clubhouse, substantial practice capacity and design quality make it a national destination. Clubhouse, dining and practice facilities extend the day beyond the course.
