At a glance
Golf Puyenbroeck is a genuine public nine-hole par 36 set within an ecologically valuable provincial estate north of Ghent.
History
The Province of East Flanders developed the course to provide accessible public golf with a strong learning orientation. Unlike many private clubs, Puyenbroeck directly connects golf with a large public recreation estate. This philosophy attracts a broad audience from beginners to experienced golfers. The course lies within the provincial estate between Ghent, Antwerp and the Dutch border. Meadow, water, trees and ecologically rich areas support abundant flora and fauna. Open ground leaves several holes exposed to wind.
Architecture
The course is balanced with two par fives, five par fours and two par threes. Fairways are relatively broad, while water and strategic bunkers defend preferred routes. The design remains accessible but still requires course management. The loop plays to par 36 and allows visitors with handicaps up to 54. Flat ground is easy to walk, while water and wind provide the principal challenge.
Club experience
Puyenbroeck offers a covered illuminated range, three par-three practice holes, practice bunker, large putting green, shop and brasserie. A Paragolfer supports accessibility for disabled golfers. Nine holes; par 36; two par fives, five par fours and two par threes; visitors up to handicap 54; public provincial golf; covered illuminated range; Paragolfer available.
