Palmola — Michael Fenn’s championship course in the Buzet forest

Palmola is located in Buzet-sur-Tarn, on the edge of the Buzet forest. The course traverses a large wooded estate, punctuated by clearings, slopes, and the Palmoula stream.

Palmola's story began in September 1970 when René Prada and Philippe de Boussac decided to create a true eighteen-hole course near Toulouse. British architect Michael Fenn was tasked with designing a course of approximately 6,100 meters. The club opened in the mid-1970s and quickly developed a strong sporting culture.

Fenn uses the trees to frame the lines and incorporates several doglegs to make position from the tee essential. Bunkers remain understated, but greens are often best approached from only one side of the fairway.

The course alternates between forest corridors, more open holes, and moderate elevation changes. The 2nd, a downhill left dogleg, is traditionally considered one of the most challenging holes.

Palmola maintains a strong identity as a members' club, featuring a swimming pool, clubhouse, sports teams, and having hosted numerous national competitions over the decades.

The Round selects it for its club culture, classic woodland design, and its importance in the history of golf in Toulouse.
