At a glance
Wings is a modern 6,499-metre international course in Roissy’s Green Valley, combining water, links-like contour and broad views beside the airport.
History
The project was initiated by Roissy-en-France and the local authority with federation support. Michel Niedbala designed the course in 2015 and it opened on 18 September 2020. Several PGA Opens quickly confirmed its sporting ambition. The estate covers ninety hectares twenty kilometres from Paris beside Charles-de-Gaulle airport. Some holes follow large lakes, others cross inland-links contour. Open ground creates strong wind influence.
Architecture
Each hole offers a different perspective. Four par fives, four par threes and ten par fours form the course. Fairways are generous, but water, bunkers and large greens defend ambitious routes. FFGolf publishes 6,499 metres, par 72, men’s SSS 75. 2 and Slope 136. The nines measure 3,239 and 3,260 metres, confirming championship scale.
Club experience
Roissy provides a twenty-six-bay range, two putting greens, approach area, Virtual Golf, Jean Van de Velde academy, bistronomic restaurant and several seminar rooms. Airport and hotel proximity support international events. 18 holes; par 72; 6,499 metres; Michel Niedbala; opened 18 September 2020; SSS 75. 2; Slope 136; 90 hectares beside CDG.
