At a glance
La Chapelle is Henri-Chapelle’s genuine nine-hole course, a rolling par 31 designed for beginners but also containing two full par fives.
History
Henri-Chapelle has welcomed golfers since 1989 and expanded into one of Belgium’s largest complexes, with 45 holes across Les Viviers, Le Charlemagne and La Chapelle. The latter was created as an entry course without becoming a repetitive collection of short par threes.
The course lies in the Herve countryside among hills, hedges, fields, woodland and fruit trees. Views towards the Ardennes and Eifel and constant elevation give the nine holes a character very different from flat academy courses.
Architecture
The official course description lists seven par threes and two par fives, at holes six and nine. This unusual composition allows players to practise short irons, driving and long shots. Holes use natural slopes and varied angles.
La Chapelle plays to par 31 and can be used without an official handicap. The two par fives introduce genuine hole construction, while the par threes require accuracy and depth control.
Club experience
Players use the eleven-room hotel, restaurant, academy, free practice access, pro shop and seminar rooms. A dedicated nine-hole green fee is published separately from the two full courses.
Nine holes; par 31; seven par threes and two par fives; playable without official handicap; one of three courses in a 45-hole complex; hotel and business club on site.
