At a glance
Fontenay-sur-Mer is a unique 18-hole par 72 divided between nine seaside links holes and nine Normandy bocage holes.
History
The course was developed near the D-Day beaches as a Cotentin destination, using maritime ground beside La Hougue Bay and inland hedged wetland. The club now reinforces the Utah Beach identity.
Around sixty hectares face Tatihou Island and the UNESCO Vauban towers. Coastal holes are exposed to wind and sand, while bocage holes are sheltered by hedges and wetlands.
Architecture
Four par threes, ten par fours and four par fives form the card. Wind radically changes links strategy and distance.
FFGolf publishes 5,808 metres, par 72, men’s SSS 72. 9 and Slope 129. The front nine measures 2,860 metres and the back 2,948.
Club experience
Year-round access, practice, dining, buggies, coaching and the Cotentin Golf Pass support stays around Utah Beach and Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue.
