Golf du Havre Octeville-sur-Mer

Le Havre is a mature flat woodland members’ course created in 1931 near the sea. Moderate distance hides a precise layout shaped by trees and Normandy wind.

The club opened at Octeville-sur-Mer in 1931. The course evolved over decades as trees matured and playing standards changed. Some sources associate later work with Michel Gayon, while the club describes gradual development. The golf occupies a coastal plateau north of Le Havre. Flat ground is easy to walk, with mature trees providing partial wind shelter.

The current card totals par 71 through a varied mixture of par threes, fours and fives. Trees reduce angles and the closing par four is especially demanding. FFGolf publishes 5,805 metres, par 71, men’s SSS 71. 9 and Slope 125. The nines measure 2,933 and 2,872 metres.

The club opens year-round and welcomes visitors up to handicap 54, with a twenty-four-bay covered range, fitness, dining, seminars, buggies and academy.
