At a glance
Cambrésis is an unusual short 18-hole inland links built on part of the former Niergnies airfield, two minutes from Cambrai.
History
Golf opened on 1 March 2017 across part of the former Niergnies air base. Development continued progressively and the course officially moved to eighteen holes on 14 April 2024. This expansion marked a new phase for a family-oriented accessible club rooted in the Cambrésis area. The property lies in open countryside south of Cambrai. The former airfield provides long views, little natural shelter and constant wind exposure. Fairways are gradually being planted, while water hazards add contrast to the largely horizontal landscape.
Architecture
The club presents the course as links-style. Its distinctive feature is combining eighteen holes within a very compact total length. Varied greens, water and wind direction create most strategic interest. Accuracy and trajectory control usually matter more than distance. The official site announces par 71 over approximately 3,300 metres. This exceptionally short length for eighteen holes reflects many compact holes and a rapid pace. Wind can still transform the course and make green approaches significantly harder.
Club experience
Facilities include a twenty-bay range, putting green, monthly free introductions, competition, coaching and Chronogolf booking. A modern clubhouse with bar-restaurant and course views was announced for 2026. 18 holes; par 71; approximately 3,300 metres; opened in 2017; officially expanded to 18 holes in April 2024; former airfield; frequent wind.
