At a glance
Château-Monthéty is Ozoir’s historic main course, 5,980 metres through Monthéty woodland and centuries-old trees, used for almost all major club competitions.
History
Golf began in 1926 when Château des Agneaux and its lawns became the American Country Club. After the war, Paris golfers formed the sporting association in 1946. The club gradually acquired the estate and developed three physical nine-hole loops. Château-Monthéty became the reference championship combination.
The golf occupies ninety hectares within Monthéty woods east of Paris. Château, outbuildings and diverse mature trees structure the landscape. Ground is relatively flat but forest fairways create established character.
Architecture
The combination uses the two oldest nine-hole loops. Mature trees frame fairways and traditional bunkers protect greens. Accuracy is essential because woodland recovery routes are limited.
The club and FFGolf publish 5,980 metres and par 72. Moderate length is balanced by trees, narrow approach angles and mature design. The course has adapted to modern golf while retaining history.
Club experience
Ozoir is a private member association that welcomes visitors. Château clubhouse, restaurant, bar, terrace, bridge and reception rooms, covered range, short game, childcare and seminars create a full club environment.
