Les Chênes is the main Château de la Couharde course, a mature demanding woodland layout where tee-shot accuracy usually determines the approach.

British architect Bill Baker designed the course, which opened in 1990. Jean-Claude Cornillot later modernised bunkers, tees and lines. Les Chênes now hosts high-level amateur events and leads Resonance’s Paris-area portfolio. The ninety-hectare estate surrounds Château de la Couharde near Montfort-l’Amaury. Oak, beech, lime and mature trees line fairways, with deer common across the property. Vegetation narrows routes.

Accuracy from the tee is essential. Greens are varied and strongly protected, often requiring the correct angle. Cornillot strengthened strategic choice without erasing Baker’s identity. The club publishes 6,187 metres and par 72, while FFGolf back tees reach 6,261 metres with SSS 73. 7 and Slope 137. The Atlas uses the club length.
