At a glance
Vire la Dathée is a unique Normandy course, rolling and technical beside Lake Dathée, measuring 5,666 metres and par 71.
History
The course developed within the Vire bocage to combine golf, nature and lake activity. Yves Bureau used slopes, views and water. The club built active member and junior culture around the course. The golf follows Lake Dathée southwest of Vire across hedges, meadow, woodland and constant elevation. Lake views appear repeatedly and exposed ridges receive wind.
Architecture
Fairways are generous but rarely flat. Contoured greens, water and elevation demand adjusted distance. Long par fours and uneven lies create the main test. The club publishes 5,666 metres and par 71. Some back-tee scorecards exceed 6,100 metres, but the current official club figure is retained.
Club experience
Year-round golf, visitor access up to handicap 54, practice, dining, seminars, buggies, junior school and lake activities support the destination. 18 holes; par 71; 5,666 metres by the club; Yves Bureau; rolling lakeside course; contoured greens and water.
