Golf de Val-Grand

Val-Grand is a 5,893-metre Michel Gayon course that began as open plain links-style golf and matured through decades of planting into a water-lined parkland.

The course opened around 1990-1991 as Évry-Bondoufle. Michel Gayon created a modern layout on largely open land. Around two thousand trees were planted annually for a decade, transforming the visual identity. The club later returned to the Val-Grand name. The sixty-hectare property lies twenty-seven kilometres southeast of Paris. A river crosses the estate and lakes border several holes. Mature planting now screens surrounding development.

Large tees, numerous bunkers and eight water-influenced holes define the design. Five par threes, nine par fours and four par fives create par 71. Landing position matters more than extreme length. The most consistent references publish 5,893 metres, par 71 and men’s white-tee Slope 132. Holes eight to thirteen concentrate much of the difficulty.
