La Touche

La Touche is Golf de Touraine’s historic course, a 5,596-metre par 71 known for narrow fairways, natural water, woodland and fast greens.

The Tours golf club moved from its earlier urban site to Domaine de la Touche. Michael Fenn, assisted by Gérard Crouzat-Reynes, designed the new course opened in 1973. It became a leading member club in Centre-Val de Loire. The course surrounds a nineteenth-century château thirteen kilometres from Tours. Rolling dense woodland, varied tree species and natural water create uphill, downhill and sidehill shots.

Four par threes, eleven par fours and three par fives fit within a relatively compact property. Narrow fairways and fast greens reward position and patience. The most consistent current reference is 5,596 metres and par 71, with men’s Slope up to 138. Some publications list 5,673 metres from another tee set.
