At a glance
Sarcelles is Sully-sur-Loire’s historic and most open loop, a 2,901-metre par 36 on a sandy plain with broad horizons.
History
Sully developed progressively from the 1950s and 1960s. Sarcelles formed the original course before Chevreuils and Faisans were added in the 1980s, creating a modular 27-hole complex. The almost flat sandy loop lies below the central hill. Trees frame but do not close holes, and open ground leaves wind exposed.
Architecture
Two par threes, five par fours and two par fives use doglegs, bunkers, a ditch and varied green shapes. Apparent ease disappears with difficult pin positions. The detailed white card publishes 2,901 metres and par 36. The club’s 2,719-metre summary refers to yellow tees.
Club experience
Nine-hole or day green fees, practice, two putting greens, bunker, dining, buggies and coaching support mixed groups. 9 holes; par 36; 2,901 metres from white tees; historic 1950s-1960s loop; sandy flat open ground.
