At a glance
La Forêt is a true woodland course: an 18-hole par 72 of 6,058 metres immersed in the hills and forest of the upper Chevreuse Valley.
History
Marivaux developed as a country club around thirty minutes southwest of Paris. The project favoured integration within existing woodland rather than artificial landscape. Tree maturity and improved surfaces strengthened the course, while an open visitor culture created an active club. The course lies at Janvry in the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse. Fairways follow natural slopes, cross clearings and disappear between tall trees. Elevation changes alter effective distance and the dense woodland creates genuine escape.
Architecture
Uphill holes, downhill drives, forest doglegs and vegetation-protected greens provide constant variety. Fairways are not always narrow, but trees rapidly close angles. Position often matters more than driver distance. The official reference is 6,058 metres and par 72. Length matters, but elevation, uneven lies and wooded corridors create the main difficulty.
Club experience
Marivaux opens year-round and welcomes visitors up to handicap 54. Covered and grass practice, dining, terrace, buggies, coaching and seminars support groups and business golf. 18 holes; par 72; 6,058 metres; rolling woodland environment; visitors up to handicap 54; open year-round.
