Golf de l’Isle Adam

L’Isle Adam is a spectacular Ronald Fream course divided between protected forest and panoramic plateau, less than one hour from Paris.

The course opened in 1995 across a 200-hectare estate in the Oise valley. Ronald Fream, trained with Robert Trent Jones, was asked to create a course appealing to beginners and competitors alike. From opening, honest design, views and environmental variety built a strong regional reputation. Part of the course crosses protected natural forest with century-old trees; another opens across a plateau above the valley and Val-d’Oise countryside. Ground is rolling, with panoramic tees and substantial elevation. Contrast between woodland and open sectors creates visual diversity.

Fream combines British and American tendencies. Fairways are broad and naturally undulating, while large sloping greens demand excellent reading. Bunkers and routes are clearly visible. Strong golfers can choose ambitious lines, while safer routes support higher handicaps. FFGolf publishes 6,188 metres and par 72, with men’s Course Rating 72. 4 and Slope 131. The nines are balanced at 3,070 and 3,118 metres. Multiple tees maintain playability, but elevation and large greens make low scoring demanding.

The clubhouse occupies a restored eighteenth-century farm with design intervention by Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The estate offers dining, practice, short-game areas, archery and nearby Domaine des Vanneaux Golf & Spa MGallery.
