Golf de La Wantzenau

La Wantzenau is a physical 18-hole, par-72 course measuring 6297 metres. Its identity comes from a varied championship course where water is integral yet multiple tees preserve playability.

The course belongs to Golf de La Wantzenau. Jeremy Pern designed the course with assistance from Jean Garaïalde, creating a major Strasbourg-area venue. The recorded design reference is Jeremy Pern et Jean Garaïalde. Sporting activity, coaching and visitor services developed around the layout without erasing its original character. The course occupies green Alsace plain north of Strasbourg among ponds, wetland, trees and open ground. Water accompanies many holes and supports strong biodiversity. Season, wind, moisture and vegetation can change effective distance and playing conditions.

The design challenge combines four par fives, substantial par fours, water-side greens and risk-reward lines. Landing-zone choice and approach angle matter more than automatic power. The retained reference is 6297 metres and par 72. FFGolf publishes 6,297 metres, men’s SSS 73. 8 and Slope 138. The club’s compact has fewer than nine physical holes and is excluded from the main count. Forward tees preserve accessibility while back tees reveal the full test.
