At a glance
La Forteresse is an 18-hole course around a twelfth-century fortified farm, crossing rolling woodland and numerous water features.
History
The golf developed in southern Seine-et-Marne around a listed rural fortified estate. Meadows, woodland and wetlands were converted into a year-round course while retaining the historic buildings. It now serves beginners, competitors and a federation Grand Prix.
The property lies about one hour from Paris in rolling agricultural country. Fairways cross woodland, meadow, side slopes and water, with repeated views towards the historic farm.
Architecture
Natural elevation and water provide the main defence. Four par threes, nine par fours and five par fives create generous long-hole rhythm. Direction changes and uneven lies demand position.
FFGolf publishes 5,868 metres, par 72, men’s SSS 71. 7 and Slope 127. The front nine measures 2,854 metres and the back 3,014.
Club experience
The club welcomes visitors up to handicap 54 and offers covered and grass practice, buggies, dining, seminars, academy and open competitions.
