Golf de Courson Stade Français

Green is Courson’s longest physical loop, a 3,360-metre nine holes with the scale of half a championship course.

Courson opened in the early 1990s as an ambitious Stade Français project. Robert von Hagge shaped four interchangeable nine-hole loops across an open plateau. Green was conceived as the most powerful section, adding championship length to several combinations. The loop crosses open Essonne land shaped by large mounds, artificial valleys, water and tall grass. Wind moves freely and broad rural views conceal the proximity of Paris.

Von Hagge uses sculpted bunkers, raised greens and diagonal landing zones. Two par threes, five par fours and two par fives form the loop. Several par fours approach or exceed 400 metres. FFGolf combination data gives 3,360 metres and par 36. Strong par fives and long par fours make wind a major factor.
