At a glance
Le Bois is Caen la Mer’s independent nine-hole course, an exceptional 3,184-metre par 37 demanding both length and accuracy through varied woodland.
History
Le Bois was added in 1995, five years after Plaine-Vallon. Fred W. Hawtree used a forest sector to create a complementary but fully sporting loop.
The loop crosses mature woodland and later planting, with changing seasonal views. Wind is reduced compared with Plaine, but forest corridors narrow directional margin.
Architecture
The club presents Le Bois as a complete exercise in length and accuracy. Its par 37 and substantial holes make straight driving and long approaches important.
The official length is 3,184 metres and par 37. Played twice, it becomes 6,368 metres and par 74, placing it among France’s most substantial nine-hole courses.
Club experience
Le Bois has a separate green fee and shares practice, panoramic restaurant, golf and paragolf schools, changing rooms and Caen la Mer services.
