Golf de Brigode

Brigode is an estate parkland routed in a star around the clubhouse and integrated among mature trees, lakes and the former château orchard.

The course was created in the late 1960s on the former property of the Comte de Montalembert. Harold J. Baker and John Harris designed the holes through the château park. The first holes opened in 1969 and the club gradually developed a recognised 18-hole course within metropolitan Lille. The property lies at Villeneuve-d’Ascq in a heavily wooded environment despite its urban location. Lakes, mature trees, preserved orchard and natural ground create a private-estate atmosphere. Gentle elevation and wet areas influence play.

The star-shaped routing repeatedly brings players close to the clubhouse. Water is particularly influential around greens. Holes seven and nine illustrate the defence, using deep bunkers, water and sloping or very deep greens. The course plays to par 72 at approximately 5,956 metres. It is moderate in length, but out-of-bounds, trees and water make mistakes expensive. Greens demand precise depth control.

Brigode provides practice facilities, clubhouse, dining and a private-club atmosphere.
