At a glance
Boucle A 9 Holes is a physical 9-hole course, par 37, measuring 3084 metres. The longest and most powerful of Bitche’s three physical loops, on Vosges sandstone facing the citadel.
History
Bitche opened in 1988 as a municipal 27-hole project by Adam and Fromanger. The A, B and C loops are combined under several commercial course names; the Atlas records physical loops. Seventy hectares lie in the Northern Vosges regional park and UNESCO biosphere, with excellent sandstone drainage and citadel views.
Architecture
Par 37 indicates substantial length and several long holes. Broad wind-exposed fairways, large greens and trees provide the main challenge. Official combinations give A+B 6,169 metres, C+B 5,528, C+A 5,527 and C+C 4,886. Therefore A measures 3,084 metres, B 3,085 and C 2,443. A is par 37.
