At a glance
Bagnoles-de-l’Orne is a historic nine-hole course created in 1927 within the Gué aux Biches clearing beside Andaines forest.
History
The golf opened in 1927 alongside the spa resort’s casino development. A twelve-hectare meadow crossed by a stream became a family and municipal course that has retained its nine-hole format for almost a century.
The flat course occupies a forest-edged clearing. A stream, mature trees and wet areas create a quiet environment distinct from Normandy links and bocage courses.
Architecture
The loop rewards accuracy and short game rather than length. Stream, trees and compact targets demand position over two repeated rounds.
Official communication gives 4,776 metres for the repeated 18-hole round. The Atlas therefore records approximately 2,388 metres and par 33 for one physical loop.
Club experience
The course opens from early March to mid-November and offers covered practice, putting, clubhouse, pro shop, snack bar, coaching and spa-town services.
Physical 9 holes; approximately par 33; approximately 2,388 metres; created in 1927; Andaines forest; twelve-hectare stream-crossed clearing.
