Golf Club Thumeries-Moncheaux

Thumeries-Moncheaux combines nine historic Percy Boomer holes with nine more modern holes by Jean-Manuel Rossi.

The course began in 1932 through the Béghin family, associated with the sugar industry. Percy Boomer designed the first nine as a private retreat. In 1991 nine new holes with more elevation and water created a full 18-hole course. The golf lies among the plains of northern France, surrounded by woodland roughly thirty minutes from Lille. The historic nine is flatter and more wooded, while the extension uses contour and wet areas.

Contrast between the two halves defines the course. Boomer favours classical lines and trees; Rossi adds land movement and water hazards. Players must adapt their strategy during the round. The course measures 5,994 metres and plays to par 72. Historic holes demand accuracy and position. Newer holes appear broader but use water and slopes to defend scoring.

The club retains a calm member atmosphere with range, practice greens, clubhouse and regular competition.
