At a glance
Les Bouleaux is a 5,772-metre par-71 woodland course where fairways thread through trees and lakes protect several greens. A back-tee Slope of 142 shows that the challenge exceeds the moderate length.
History
The club developed in southern Alsace from the 1980s. The present eighteen-hole course was officially homologated on 5 July 2003. Specialist sources associate the design with Philippe Valant. Tree maturity and improved surfaces have strengthened its technical identity. Around thirty-four hectares lie within Nonnenbruch forest near Mulhouse. Dense vegetation and water create a quiet natural setting. Woodland shelters some wind but makes recovery difficult.
Architecture
Five par threes, nine par fours and four par fives use narrow strategic corridors, water-protected approaches and demanding greens. Position under the trees matters as much as power. The official reference is 5,772 metres, par 71, men’s SSS 71. 1 and Slope 142 from the back markers. Yellow tees reduce the course to 5,276 metres and Slope 124.
Club experience
Visitors with licence and Green Card are welcome. Twenty covered and ten grass practice positions, TeeBar dining, buggies, equipment hire, coaching and seminars support the club. 18 holes; par 71; 5,772 metres; homologated 5 July 2003; SSS 71. 1; Slope 142; forest and lakes.
