Golf Club De Wijnvelden

A qualifying nine-hole course fifteen minutes from Mechelen, designed to be technical, varied and accessible.

De Wijnvelden began as a six-hole course before being expanded and completely reorganised in 2010 into a full qualifying nine-hole loop. The change transformed a learning venue into a complete club capable of hosting competitions, green-fee play and golfers of different standards. Clubhouse, brasserie and practice facilities subsequently strengthened its local role. The course lies in the countryside of Sint-Katelijne-Waver among meadow, farmland, trees and water. It is close to Mechelen and Antwerp but retains a rural atmosphere. Flat ground and constructed hazards shape the challenge.

The compact design concentrates bunkers, a major water hazard and strategically integrated obstacles. Power is not essential, but accurate line and the correct approach angle matter throughout. The par-30 layout provides a genuine variety of shots despite moderate length. Lateral mistakes are quickly punished by water or sand.

Members and visitors use the brasserie, lounge terrace and practice facilities. The relaxed social atmosphere suits quick rounds and local meetings. Expanded from six to nine holes in 2010; qualifying course; par 30; large water hazard; visitors welcomed daily.
