Golf Club de Salouël Amiens Métropole

Salouël is a rolling technical urban nine-hole course at Amiens’ edge. Its quick format still includes a par five, several reachable par fours and genuine strategic decisions.

The course was created in the late 1980s on the former seventeen-hectare Coccinelle amusement park, dismantled by the municipality. The Golf Club de Salouël Amiens Métropole association was formed in 1989. The design is attributed to Mark Adam and Patrick Fromanger, and the club has become an important local member organisation. The course occupies a green valley immediately southwest of Amiens. Fairways use more elevation than expected from an urban course. Planting, natural hazards and turf gradually screen golfers from surrounding development.

The design contains one par five, several par fours and three par threes. Powerful players can attempt to drive certain par fours, but risk increases sharply around greens. Offset tees improve pace and vary angles during an 18-hole replay. The club publishes more than 2,150 metres; its history gives 2,173 metres and par 33. The loop is short but demands iron control and tee-shot decisions. Greens and natural hazards punish over-aggressive attacks.

Salouël provides covered practice, putting green, approach area, pro shop, clubhouse and active academy.
